Walking with or without the aid of a dog is still one of the simplest pleasures, and Britain's favourite form of
exercise. Helsbury Park is well placed to offer something for everyone; a gentle stroll on the estate, along the river Camel or in the woods,
or you can embark on a full days hiking on the stunning
moors from the doorstep.
If you drive out to the start of your expedition then the choice is even more breathtaking. From the spectacular cliff tops of the
coastal path,
through the wooded valleys, to the ancient monuments on the high moors - North Cornwall has it all.
The South West Coastal Path at Pentire Point, the path runs around the whole coast and is well sign posted. Close to
Helsbury there are a number of stunning walks including Pentire, Trevone, Boscastle and Crackington Haven.
For those requiring less strenuous activity the Camel Trail offers the perfect opportunity. The trail runs alongside the beautiful
river Camel, for over 17 miles in total, from Pooley's Bridge near St Breward to Padstow. The whole of the Trail is level: it used to be part of the
Bodmin and Wadebridge Railway, so is ideal for walkers young and old.
The bluebells in the woods at Helsbury during May are a wonderful sight. The whole wood is carpeted with a delicate blue haze.
Deer trails are easy to follow through the woods as you wind your way down to the river.
We've even planned a
nature trail which you can follow to take in the best of Helsbury.
