North Cornwall has a wide range of beaches:
from unspoilt sandy bays to busy family beaches with a myriad of activities.
There are those particularly suitable for surfing; for dogs; those with easy
access or remote, secluded bays. Cornwall is one of Britain’s leading venues
for surfing and beach sports with many opportunities for equipment hire, or
to learn from an expert.
Whether you learn to surf 'properly' or have some fun with a boogie board
there's no better way to feel at one with the power of the ocean. With
specialist schools for surfing, kitesurfing and waveski qualified and
experienced instructors are available to give you the very best tuition, and
a great day out.
You can learn to sail; waterski; simply hire a boat, or take a pleasure
trip to see the area's marine wildlife in its natural habitat. On a smaller
scale many a happy hour can be spent searching for wildlife in the myriad
rock pools: home to crabs, star fish, sea anemones and shrimps.
The South West Coastal Path runs around the entire Cornish coastline, although intrepid hikers do set out to walk the whole path, there are
plentiful opportunities to take in small sections of the stunningly beautiful
path. Some beaches have dog restrictions from Easter to September, but dogs
are allowed on the cliff path at all times. En route you can enjoy the
attractions of picturesque fishing villages, and feast at the many excellent
fish restaurants.
