You may well have heard about the freak weather a few weeks ago that caused disruption in Cornwall, well rather than dwell on that we thought we would show you how wonderful Helsbury looked that day. It doesn't happen very often as the Cornish climate is usually a little more temperate but when it does happen it really is beautiful. Click on the link for some more images...

Following our success in the South West Awards we've also been recognised in 2 categories in the Cornwall Tourism Awards for 2005. We won a Bronze in the Self Catering category for our dog friendly cottages and a Silver in the Marketing Awards for our 'Dog Friendly' approach to holiday accommodation. It has been a fantastic year and we're thrilled with this recognition, especially as it also voted for by members of the public. We would like to thank you all for your support.

We're always trying to improve our web site and we've recently invested in some 360 degree virtual tours of some of the views and rooms at Helsbury. We're planning to expand this facility to give you a comprehensive view of the whole site over the coming year, keep an eye out for developments.

During the winter we're spending some quality time giving our barns a facelift. As well as some maintenance on the outside of the barns we've also completed a full refurb of Westhayes and will do the same to Marhayes in the new year. There are new carpets throughout upstairs we've also laid a slate floor downstairs and every room has been painted. The soft furnishings have also been replaced with latest Laura Ashley fabrics. We're very excited about these improvements and we hope you will like them too. If you have been before we would love to welcome you back to get your views.

If you can't come to Cornwall for Christmas or New Year why not get a taste of Cornwall delivered to you. Lobbs Farm Shop near Heligan is a working farm and farm shop run by the three Lobb brothers (who are the fifth generation on the farm). An excellent selection of meat, game and cheese is available from their web site and 90% of stock is Cornish. They have won several awards including Taste of the West Best Farm retailer for 2005 (Prize presented by Prince Charles at Highgrove.)
