Awards for Helsbury...
Our outstanding offer is being
recognised in many quarters
We've
just learnt that we've made it into the top 3 in the
category Self-Catering Establishment of the Year at
the 2008 Cornwall Tourism Awards. Gold, Silver and
Bronze placements will be revealed on the night of the
16th October at the Grand Awards Dinner being held at the
Headland Hotel, Newquay.
We've also been awarded 5
stars for the fifth year in a row along with the award of
Pets Welcome status by Quality in Tourism. We scored
highly in some key areas including cleanliness, facilities
and also our gardens and public areas. We're in the
process of going for a Green Tourism award and we're well
on the way with that.

Book Early for
2009...
We booked quicker than ever last
year so get in early to avoid disappointment
We saw
unprecedented levels of enquiries and bookings last year
with most of the key weeks being booked well in advance.
We've been running our
2009 price list
since Easter this year due to demand and we already have
over 25 bookings!
If you're looking to come and
stay with us next year you really do need to let us know
as soon as possible and get your
booking form
and deposit in the post. Otherwise how will you explain it
to your four-legged friend, another year without Helsbury
- it just wouldn't be fair!

Investment Continues at Helsbury... Continuous improvement and a move to
sustainable tourism drive investment
Since
moving to Cornwall last October we've instigated a
sustained period of investment into the Helsbury site. As
well as new outdoor facilities which many of you will have
seen already like the bikes, the kennels, the barbecues
and recycling areas we've also upgraded the facilities in
the cottages too.
With new bathrooms, new
appliances and four poster beds throughout the barns we've
been extremely busy. We're planning to put solar water
heating in later in the year too. The updates are all
featured on the
blog so well worth keeping an eye on it.

Helsbury's Grand
Design... A
tremendously exciting project and we hope it will be a
facility enjoyed by all our guests
Last year
we gained planning permission for a swimming pool and spa
complex to be built on site. The design is extremely
innovative and follows all the principles of sustainable
architecture. As well as a 15m pool there is a gym, lounge
area and a sauna. The outside deck will provide a great
place to relax and take in the view.
The building
work is starting now and will run for approximately 6
months, we hope to open the facility in May. The impact of
the build will only affect the farmhouse so we're open for
business as usual during this time.

Dog Photo
Competition Goes from Strength to Strength...
We've already had some cracking
entries which are featured on our blog
Now in
it's third year our annual photo competition is becoming
an institution that's enjoyed by everyone who visits us.
Everyone loves the photos of the dogs on the website and
we've seen a few budding Lord Lichfields getting their
dogs to pose on the lawn the day before they go home.
We've had nine cracking entries already, they're all
featured on our
blog, including this one of Willow enjoying the mud!
If you haven't sent your entry yet please do so as soon as
you can.
The prize this year is a weeks stay but
also a photo shoot with Richard of
Slobberchops, a
professional dog photographer based here in the south
west.
