7. Delphy
A lovely spot near St Breward on the moor, only known to a few locals and regular visitors, it is a little oasis on the De Lank River. Great for young kids and a spot of kite flying. No dog facilities and the road is close but lovely cool water and grass to run on. This is only about a 10 minute drive from Helsbury Park, but if you are keen you could walk to it, stopping at the Old Inn in St Breward.

8. Trebarwith Strand
A lovely beach at low tide, with secluded spots amongst the rocks and sandy bays, great pub (Port William) that serves wonderful crab and lobster salads on the terrace overlooking the beach, good parking facilities. One dog bin and only a short beach, parking is a walk away, lots of rocks to climb and pools to play in. This is the nearest beach to Helsbury Park, about a 20 minute drive.

9. Helsbury Park itself...

The walks on the land at Helsbury Park are as dog friendly as you can get, with 50 acres of pasture and 50 acres of woodland, 1 mile of river frontage and the pond - it just doesn't get any better than that. No need for a lead most of the time and thousands of places to explore!

10. Lanhydrock Parkland
Suggested by Maureen Fleming, there are a variety of walks, including the parkland and river frontage. Apparently there are plenty of dog bins and poo bags available too. Sounds great - Thanks Maureen. Lanhydrock is just the other side of Bodmin to Helsbury, about a 25 minute drive, its a stunning National trust property.

What Helsbury Park guests say

VISITOR BOOK

"Thank you once again, we'll be coming back to Helsbury Park, hopefully for a week next time! Love receiving your newsletters - it reminds us how wonderful it is there. We also love the attention you pay to dogs and their needs, it is just as important for our dogs to have a great time."

"Just a short note to say how much we all enjoyed our stay at Helsbury Park last week. The holiday cottage and facilities were first class and your grounds were all enjoyed immensely by us all (Lottie our Chocolate Brown Labrador particularly liked the river at the bottom of the field)."

"Just wanted to let you know we've just come back from a very enjoyable stay at Helsbury Park. The weather was not great, but Westhayes and the views made up for the lack of sunshine. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the park and our dog's tail did not stop wagging."
