AllFathers Axe Throwing
Named after the Norse God, Odin, this experience will quickly have you feeling like a Viking. AllFathers Axe Throwing offers a great activity for a rainy day. Located on the way to Bude, you can easily incorporate it into a great day out.
Getting There
AllFathers is located at Thorne Farm Business Park, Bude, and whilst it is easy to get to you could quite easily miss it. Make sure you have familiarised yourself with the route on google maps before you set off and drive nice and slowly along the road leading up to it so that you don’t fly past it.
Throwing Axes
When you arrive, you will get a quick demonstration and safety briefing from one of the instructors. They will walk you through different holds and the best ways to grip the axe. They will also give you advice on your stance and technique throughout the sessions. If you are a beginner like me, they will know what is and isn’t working even when you don’t and will help you adjust as needed.
Don’t worry if it takes you a while to start getting the axes to stick in the target, it took me ages and even once I’d done it once, I continued to miss… a lot. Even if you aren’t a natural, it’s a lot of fun.
Making a Day Of It
Axe throwing is hungry work. Once you have finished, head into Bude to get lunch or dinner. We went to Life’s a Beach but you could try the Temple, Rosie’s or any of the wonderful pubs, restaurants and cafes in Bude.
Also, be sure to check out the famous Bude Tunnel, a signature landmark of Bude and a beloved landmark to locals. No trip to Bude is complete without visiting it.
AllFathers Axe Throwing requires that you book before arrival. The information to do this can be found on their Facebook page.
