Top-Class Events Coming to Cornwall

While we’re all for rest and relaxation, some top-class events and quality entertainment is always welcome, so we’re really excited to share news of a host of top-class events coming to Cornwall this summer.

June is going to be an action-packed month, kicking off with the Royal Cornwall Show at Wadebridge from Thursday 4th to Saturday 6th June.  The dog show at the Royal Cornwall became a qualifier for Crufts for the first time in 2019, offering the chance to see some of the UK’s top dogs wagging into action.

The Eden Sessions also start in June in the unique setting of the Eden Project near St Austell.  This year’s world class line-up begins with US rock band My Chemical Romance who have added an extra date to their tour to visit the Eden Project on Tuesday 16th June.  The very next day, Wednesday 17th June, global superstar Lionel Richie is playing (Hello!) and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds drop in on Tuesday 23rd June.

On into July, Danny O’Donoghue brings his voice to Cornwall when Irish trio The Script play a sneaky date at the Eden Project (Wednesday 15th July) not listed on their web site.  The Sessions are brought to a divine close by the most successful female artist in history, Diana Ross who headlines on Tuesday 21st July.

If that’s not hot enough, August brings us the Boardmasters Festival (5th to 9th).  In Newquay, international surfers compete in World Surf Leagues on Fistral Beach, while over at Watergate Bay more than 200 artists will perform across 12 stages.  This year’s line-up features sets from Skepta, Kings of Leon, The 1975 and Dizzee Rascal.

Unique cycling event

Finally, summer departs in a blur of rainbow lycra on Sunday 6th September 2020, when Cornwall will host the Tour of Britain cycle race for the first time ever.  The Grand Depart will see riders race 170 kilometres through the Cornish countryside, starting in Penzance and ending in Bodmin.
