Our Guests

Our guests are made up of many different kinds of groups, individuals and combinations, both human and canine. This section gives you an idea of why these different people come back to Helsbury time and time again.

What you DON’T need to bring

We’ve tried to think of everything our guests will need and the barns are extremely well equipped, you will NOT need to bring towels or bed linen, unless you’re planning to swim a lot during your stay in which case it may be worth bringing a swimming towel or a robe. We supply a selection of toiletries, logs (in season), milk, tea, coffee and a few treats for your arrival. The properties all have washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers with detergents available.

Families

The spacious nature of the cottages make family holidays extra special. Most of the bedrooms are en suite and all kitchens and living rooms are laid out with families in mind. Helsbury is an enclosed site with acres of land and woods to enjoy. There is plenty of parking so it is ideal for an extended family group to share a holiday together. The properties are all well equipped so you should not want for anything during your stay.

Dog Owners

Helsbury’s unique ability to accommodate dogs is one of its most appealing features. Indeed there are very few properties in the UK which can boast this level of luxury and the ability to bring your dogs. Helsbury is so well suited that we don’t have a limit on the number of dogs, some of our guests have had 4 or 5 dogs! However, we do ask that guests comply with our doggy code.

Couples

Helsbury is extremely secluded, quiet and luxurious. Ideal for some time away and a rest from the rigours of modern life. The master bedrooms in the barns and the farmhouse have four-posters and ensuite bathrooms. And with the superb restaurants and pubs locally there is no need to worry about cooking!

Golfers

Whatever your handicap there is a course for you near Helsbury Park. Our spacious accommodation provides plenty of room for your clubs so you won’t have to trip over them every time you move, and the golf section of our visitor’s guide is packed with information and details of special course rates.

Nature Lovers

With the nature of this unique site covering the woods, river and grass land and plenty of wildlife and birds to see Helsbury really is a wonderful place. With Helsbury’s position, so close to the moor and the coast, there are many, many places to visit and enjoy the landscape. We even have a selection of wellies available on site!

Stress-heads and Forest Bathers

Spending time in nature is a great way to relax, whether it is walking in our ancient woodland or dabbling your toes in the river camel you can really unwind at Helsbury Park. Check out our Mindful Moments videos to get a feel for the amazing atmosphere here on site.

Fishermen

With salmon fishing on the river camel and access to superb sea fishing on the North Coast Helsbury is a great location for fishing that will keep you busy every day of the week. With membership of Bodmin Anglers Association thrown in with your holiday there is no excuse not to catch. Due to the nature and variety of the types of fishing we aren’t able to provide fishing equipment to our guests.

Cyclists

With access to the Camel Trail just a mile away and being on the edge of Bodmin Moor Helsbury is perfectly located for cycling. There are a number of good bike hire shops located on the Camel Trail, particularly at Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. You can also head to Bude and cycle the dedicated trail there.
