Leopallooza – The Greatest House Party… in a Field

The last ever Leopallooza. It was certainly one to remember with headliners Orbital, Bloc Party and Aurora, making it a legendary last Leo. Not only did Leopallooza garner some incredible musical acts, they also had a comedy tent, lots of amazing food, fairground rides and arts and crafts!

Friday

Friday saw Orbital take to the Ade Burt Memorial stage to headline the final Friday. The electronic music duo had the crowd dancing and cheering well into the evening and came prepared with some fantastic visuals. They were preceded by John who played the Hero Stage and did a fantastic job getting the crowd ready and raring for the headliners. If you still wanted to stay and dance the night away, the comedy tent was transformed into a silent disco from 11pm until 2:30am.

Saturday

Saturday was headlined by one of my personal favourite bands, Bloc Party, and what a headliner they were! The crowd was not deterred by the rain and mud and were screaming every lyric. Something Leopallooza never falls short on is the lights and visuals and this was certainly no exception. Bloc Party ended the night with “This Modern Love” and what a brilliant ending it was. They were preceded by Low Island on the Hero Stage who were wonderful, and once again, for those who weren’t done partying, the silent disco was awaiting them.

Sunday

If you thought you knew what mud looked like, you hadn’t seen anything until you had been to the final day of the final Leopallooza. Regardless of the slippery conditions, people were still on their feet making the most of the final moment of the greatest house party in a field. Headlined by Aurora who saw out the festival, it was a wonderful performance and a fitting way to say goodbye. Aurora was preceded by Billy Nomates who, as the name suggests, performed solo. She gave a wonderful performance as the final act to play the Hero Stage and persuaded the crowd into the mud for the final headliner.

Hosted by The Wyldes, Leopallooza was an incredible event and the local community cannot thank the event production enough for spending so much time and effort making it a truly unforgettable experience. Watching Bloc Party on Saturday will forever be one of my favourite musical memories and I can only thank the incredible team that made it happen. We cannot wait to see what The Wyldes do next!
