St Just – Doggy day out
St Just is in the far west of Cornwall. It’s a bit of a drive from Helsbury but there is so much to do in a small area and some wonderful sights. Head down the A30 to Penzance and follow the signs to St Just. Start by parking in the village and head to Kurt Jackson’s gallery, one of Cornwall’s finest contemporary artists. The gallery is dog friendly and a wonderful space to appreciate Kurt’s amazing work.

Cape Cornwall
There are plenty of places to eat or grab a coffee in St Just, once refreshed head to Cape Cornwall, a few miles down the road. There you will find some stunning views of Lands End, Sennen and the Stack. There are sweeping views of the The Atlantic coast as well as access to the south west coastal path.
Botallack Mine
A short drive further on is the Botallack mine site which you may recognise from Poldark as the site of the old tin mines. Again the coastal views are spectacular and there are plenty of historic buildings to take in. There is a cafe and a large car park, and of course its all dog friendly.

On the way home you can also visit Geevor Tin Mine, Men an Tol, the Mermaid of Zennor, Lanyon Quoit, Chysauster or St Ives. It’s a long day but a great one.
