We often suggest what to do around Cornwall, but we realised that we have not acknowledged the amazing things to do right nearby Helsbury Park!
St Breward
St Breward is a beautiful moorland village near to Helsbury with a wonderful pub. The Old Inn in St Breward is renowned for its wonderful food, specifically it’s Sunday Carvery. It has recently become known for the beautiful mural in honour of the NHS on the side of the building. It is also Dog Friendly!
St Breward is 5 to 10 minutes from Helsbury and is perfect to visit on the Friday you arrive if you don’t want to cook after your long journey here. During October, there has been a great Friday and Saturday deal. All-you-can-eat Italian! These nights are happening until Saturday 28th of October.
Things to do in Camelford
Camelford is the nearest town to Helsbury, about a 2 to 5 minute drive away. It has a lovely park called Enfield Park which provides a great dog walk as well as a play area for kids. There is also outside gym equipment, a BBQ area and a grass area where children can play.

Helsbury Park is in the Camel Valley, on the edge of Bodmin Moor which is 208 square kilometres of beautiful moorland. There are countless opportunities for walks and offroad bike rides. Be cautious if you do choose to ride your bikes as the terrain can be uneven. Brown Willy, the highest point in Cornwall, and Rough Tor, a slightly lower peak, are two hills on the moor which provide a fantastic hike.
Cornwall is a gorgeous place to explore, but it is also important to appreciate what is on our doorstep. Helsbury is situated in an amazing area, so be sure to make the most of it!
